Some of my most rewarding interactions as a massage therapist have been in no-fault and work-comp cases. Getting to work with the same person on a regular basis is wonderful in so many ways.
It is hugely fulfilling to see the progress in your client getting such regular treatment, taking them from a place of pain to one of ease. I think we all became massage therapists because we get fulfillment out of helping people, and to be able to work with the same person on an ongoing basis allows us to really enjoy their progress.
The relationships can be beautiful. As with most regular clients, we are not just supporting them physically, the emotional support is equally valuable. To have our undivided attention to talk about the stories in their life that are feeding into the stresses in their body allows both the physical and the emotional body let go.
Equally wonderful is to be able to work on a client without the constraints of money. To be able to bring this much healing into someone's life that might not normally have access to it, is a gift to us as therapists as much as it is to the client.
Finally, the pay scale is good. It is wonderful that the insurance industry values our work and the extra attention and care that needs to go into a recuperative session after a car accident. You deserve to be paid well and with no-fault and work-comp massage, you can.
